Get To Know… Elodie

Elodie is a Caritas intern for six months as part of her civic service programme. She brings with her several years of volunteering experience in the migration and social sectors across a number of European countries.

After waiting for the right civic service opportunity for several years, Elodie found her way to Caritas Cyprus. The role is also closely connected to her studies and her interest in social work, migration and human rights.

As part of her university studies, Elodie took classes in Modern Greek, so coming to Cyprus felt like the perfect opportunity to practise the language and experience it in everyday life.

Elodie is a native French speaker and also speaks English and Italian, with a basic knowledge of Arabic. At Caritas, she supports walk-in visitors and beneficiaries with questions related to their social rights, including access to education, healthcare and financial resources.

She is our newest addition to the Caritas team and can’t wait to visit Kofinou — so keep an eye out for her there soon! You can find Elodie at Caritas from Monday to Friday, from morning until afternoon.

And if you thought we had already listed all the languages she speaks, think again! Elodie also has a basic knowledge of Spanish and Japanese.
