Child Benefits Applications – Now Open (May 2026)

Families with children in Cyprus can now apply for the Child Benefit and the Single Parent Child Benefit for 2026. Recognised refugees and beneficiaries of subsidiary protection may also be eligible to receive annual financial support for their children.

These benefits are intended to support families with the cost of raising children, and the amount received depends on the family’s situation.

What Benefits Are Available?
Child Benefit

This benefit is available for families and couples with children.

Single Parent Child Benefit

This benefit is available for single parents raising children on their own.

How Is the Amount Calculated?

The amount of financial support depends on:

  • The number of children in the family
  • The total family income
How to Apply

Applications can be submitted:

  • Through the CY Login online system, or
  • By submitting a paper application form if you do not have access to the online platform

If you do not already have a CY Login account, you will need to book an appointment at the Benefits and Allowances Service Office (the same office where EEE applications are handled).

Required Documents

Applicants will need to prepare the following documents:

  • Child’s Birth Certificate
  • IBAN (bank account details)
  • Residency cards of both the parent and the child
  • School registration certificate (for school-age children)
  • Bank authorisation form (for paper applications)
Additional Documents for Single Mothers

Single mothers applying for the Single Parent Child Benefit must also provide:

  • A certificate from the Mukhtar or the Court confirming single-parent status
  • If the father provides financial support: a document from the Mukhtar stating the amount provided
