Nicosia to Host First-Ever Bicycle Film Festival: A Celebration of Sustainable Mobility
The Nicosia International Festival 2025 is expanding its horizons with a brand-new addition: the Bicycle Film Festival, coming to Cyprus on October 17 and 19 at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre and its surroundings.
This globally celebrated film event, which started in New York over 25 years ago and has since toured more than 100 cities and attracted over one million viewers, will now bring its inspiring vision to Nicosia.
What to Expect
- Thematic screenings: On October 19 (20:30 – midnight), three film screenings centered on sustainable mobility will be shown.
- Open-air festival space: The outdoor area of the theatre and the adjacent Municipal Garden will be transformed into a lively festival zone featuring music, bike shops, and a kids’ bike school.
- Interactive workshops & collaborations: In partnership with CYENS, there will be participatory workshops along with dialogue sessions hosted by NGOs to engage the public on mobility and environmental topics.
- School screenings: On October 17, the program includes dedicated screenings for school audiences.
