Caritas Cyprus Closed on Orthodox Christian Easter – April 21, 2025

Caritas Cyprus will be closed on Monday, April 21, 2025, in celebration of Orthodox Christian Easter (Κυριακή του Πάσχα).

Some years, Orthodox Christian Easter and Catholic Easter are not on the same day. In Cyprus, however, Easter is traditionally celebrated by most Christians, including Maronites and Latin Catholics, on the day of Orthodox Easter, which is April 20 this year. This day marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ and is a time of joy, family gatherings, and traditional celebrations across the country. Festivities include midnight church services, candle-lit processions, and Easter feasts shared with loved ones.
