If you have been granted international protection in Cyprus, one of your first steps is to apply for a residence permit. This document is essential for living legally in Cyprus and accessing services such as healthcare and employment. Below, we outline the key steps to obtaining your residence permit.

Who Needs to Apply?

All individuals granted refugee status or subsidiary protection must apply for a residence permit as soon as they receive their decision from the Asylum Service.

How to Apply?

To apply for a residence permit, you must complete the required application form (Resident Permit Form) and submit it along with the following documents:

  • Asylum Service Decision (proof of your international protection status)
  • Alien Registration Certificate (ARC)
  • Rental agreement (preferably stamped by the mukhtar)
  • Birth certificates (if applicable, for family members)
  • Any additional documents requested by the Migration Department
Where to Apply?

The application process varies depending on your place of residence:

  • Nicosia Residents: Visit the Migration Department at Arch. Makarios Avenue 90 (no appointment needed).
  • Other Districts: Submit your application at your local Immigration Office (appointment required via email).

Note: All family members, including children, must be present for fingerprinting and photographs.
