Child Benefits Applications – Now Open (May 2026)

Families with children in Cyprus can now apply for the Child Benefit and the Single Parent Child Benefit for 2026. Recognised refugees and beneficiaries of subsidiary protection may also be eligible to receive annual financial support for their children.

These benefits are intended to support families with the cost of raising children, and the amount received depends on the family’s situation.

What Benefits Are Available?
Child Benefit

This benefit is available for families and couples with children.

Single Parent Child Benefit

This benefit is available for single parents raising children on their own.

Who Is Eligible?

Legal residents of Cyprus (holders of residence permits incl. recognised refugees and beneficiaries of subsidiary protection) who have resided in the Republic of Cyprus continuously for min. 5 years. 

How Is the Amount Calculated?

The amount of financial support depends on:

  • The number of children in the family
  • The total family income

The yearly amount for the Child Benefit ranges starts from €588 for one child, €705 for two children, €1293 for three children and €2073 for four for families with low income and decreases for families with higher income. 

The Single-Parent Family Benefit is paid in addition to the standard Child Benefit. The monthly amount granted per dependent child ranges from €189 to €212
 depending on the total family income.

How to Apply

Applications can be submitted:

  • Through the CY Login online system

If you do not already have a CY Login account, you will need to book an appointment at the Benefits and Allowances Service Office (the same office where EEE applications are handled or Citizen Service Centres).

Required Documents

Applicants will need to prepare the following documents:

  • Child’s Birth Certificate
  • IBAN (bank account details)
  • Residency cards of both the parent and the child
  • School registration certificate (for school-age children)
Additional Documents for Single Mothers

Single mothers applying for the Single Parent Child Benefit must also provide:

  • A certificate from the Mukhtar or the Court confirming single-parent status
  • If the father provides financial support: a document from the Mukhtar or Custody paper from the Court
  • Court order to maintenance for the child by the father or an affidavit signed by both parents at the Court confirming on maintenance amount agreed between them.

Please note that if the father of the child cannot have CYLogin, the application cannot be finalised and it will probably be rejected.
