Caritas Cyprus Closed on Orthodox Christian Easter – April 10 and 13, 2026

Caritas Cyprus will be closed on April 10 and April 13, 2026, in celebration of Orthodox Christian Easter (Κυριακή του Πάσχα).

Some years, Orthodox Christian Easter and Catholic Easter are not on the same day. In Cyprus, however, Easter is traditionally celebrated by most Christians, including Maronites and Latin Catholics, on the day of Orthodox Easter, which is April 12 this year. This day marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ and is a time of joy, family gatherings, and traditional celebrations across the country. Festivities include midnight church services, candle-lit processions, and Easter feasts shared with loved ones.
