How to Register Your Dependent Child in GESY

Ensuring your child is registered in GESY (General Healthcare System) is crucial for accessing medical care, vaccinations, and specialist consultations in Cyprus. Here’s a step-by-step guide to completing the registration process.

1️⃣ Who Can Register a Child in GESY?

If you are already registered in GESY, you can also enroll your newborn or dependent child.

2️⃣ How to Register a Child in GESY?

The first step is to make sure that the child’s nationality has been entered in the system. This can be done in two ways:
a. the nationality of the child is updated at the District Administration Office where the child’s birth certificate was issued. The child will take the nationality of his/her father once the father’s passport is presented to the District Administration Office.  Or
b. the nationality is entered in the system by issuance of Alien Registration Certificate (ARC).

Step two is that you ask the pediatrician that you have selected to be the personal doctor for your child to register the child in GESY with his/her birth certificate.

3️⃣ Why Register Your Child in GESY?

Access to a personal doctor for regular check-ups
Free vaccinations and preventive care
Reduced medical costs for specialist visits, tests, and medication

📢 Important: Make sure to register your child as soon as possible to avoid delays in accessing healthcare services!
