Turn Debt into Hope”—2025 Jubilee Year Campaign

Every 25 years, the Jubilee tradition reminds us all to serve those in need and to build bridges of hope in our communities and across the world. In the spirit of the 2025 Jubilee—declared the Year of Hope by Pope Francis—the Caritas Internationalis confederation has launched a campaign to champion debt justice, fairness, and solidarity.

‼️The Global Debt Crisis: A Call for Change

Currently, a staggering 48 developing countries are spending more on debt interest payments than on health or education, further entrenching inequality and poverty. This reality underscores the urgent need for debt justice and systemic reform.

📌A Global Petition for Debt Relief

Caritas Cyprus invites everyone to be part of the solution by signing a global petition aimed at raising awareness about the systemic change needed. By signing, you’ll be urging governments and decision-makers to implement debt relief that aligns with the values of equity and compassion central to Catholic Social Teaching.

This debt relief is fundamental not only for social justice but for sustainable development across the globe.

👍Why Your Voice Matters

As we approach the 2025 Jubilee Year, we are reminded of our collective responsibility to serve the poor and marginalized. This campaign embodies our shared hope for a fairer world—one where the burden of debt no longer prevents nations from prioritizing health and education for their people.

Together, we can make a difference.
