How to Apply for Guaranteed Minimum Income (GMI/EEE)

If you do not have a source of income, you may be eligible for Guaranteed Minimum Income (GMI), also known as EEE. This financial assistance is provided by the government to support individuals and families in need. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to apply.

Step 1: Prepare Your Application

You can apply for EEE either online or on paper:

  • Online Application: Create an account on the Ariadne portal and fill the application.
  • Paper Application: Download the EEE3 application form here.

Once completed, the application must be submitted in person at:

๐Ÿ“ Citizen Service Office in your city (appointment by calling 22309100).

Step 2: Gather Required Documents

Your application must include:

โœ… Form EEE8 completed and signed by all adult family members.

โœ… Copies of:

  • Asylum Service Decision
  • Receipt from Migration Department for residence permit application (if available)
  • Birth certificates of children (if applicable)
  • Medical reports (if applicable)
  • Your IBAN and bank statements from the past 12 months

If applying for rent assistance, you must also submit:

  • Rental contract
  • Landlordโ€™s IBAN, ID, address, and phone number
  • Copy of the propertyโ€™s title deeds
  • Inland revenue stamps (if the rental period exceeds โ‚ฌ5,000)
  • The contract must be signed by two witnesses, including their names and ID numbers.

After submitting your application, you will receive a receipt.

Step 3: Processing Time & Additional Requests

Application Review:

  • Examination may take up to 8 months.
  • Within 2 months, you will receive a letter if additional documents are needed.
Step 4: Financial Support While Waiting

If you have no income while waiting for your EEE approval, you can apply for emergency financial aid at the District Social Welfare Office.

๐Ÿ“ž Social Welfare will call you within 4 weeks with an answer. You must submit a new application each time you need help until your EEE application is approved or you find a job.
