Call for Applications: Caritas Cyprus Customer Service Apprentice Program
Are you an asylum seeker, refugee, or beneficiary of subsidiary protection looking to gain practical experience, develop new skills, help others, and become more independent in Cyprus? 🚀
We are excited to introduce the Customer Service Apprentice (CSA) Program—a hands-on opportunity designed to empower participants by enhancing their autonomy, digital skills, and job readiness.
Through active involvement in Caritas Cyprus activities, this program fosters community engagement, builds a network of skilled individuals, and reduces dependency on external support. By participating in social-service delivery, apprentices will gain valuable on-the-job experience in customer service and administration, helping them prepare for future opportunities.
📅 Program Structure
📍 Location: Community Center, Caritas Cyprus, Nicosia
📆 Duration: 1 week (Monday – Friday)
🕘 Hours: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch break)
📌 What You’ll Do:
Daily Operations
- Welcome visitors to the Centre in a professional and courteous manner
- Respond to queries from visitors – providing definitive responses when possible, signposting to other offices/NGOs when appropriate, making appointment for additional Caritas services when necessary
- Direct visitors to Caritas activities
- Assist with appointments as requested
- Contribute to general upkeep of the Centre
- Based on recurring needs, develop tools to improve services (handouts, etc)
Interpretation/Translation
- Convert and convey queries and information accurately, if/as requested.
- Assist with translation of communications, flyers, etc, if/as requested.
Admin and Support
- Maintain accurate and timely records of attendance.
- Submit all personal documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
At the end of the program, participants will receive a Certificate of Participation recognizing their skills and contributions. 🎓
📌Qualifications :
Required
- Solid communications skills in English and/or French; other language skills an advantage
- Punctuality and reliability; ability to commit to working full-time for one week
- Interest in improving customer service skills and working with migrants and/or marginalized populations
- Flexibility and adaptability
