A Quick Guide to Vaccination in Cyprus

This post is based on the guide created through the Access to Vaccination for Newly Arrived Migrants project and aims to help newly arrived migrants navigate the vaccination process in Cyprus.

Why Is Vaccination Important?

Vaccination is one of the most effective ways to protect yourself and your family from preventable diseases. By activating your immune system, vaccines provide long-term, and often lifelong, protection. Diseases like smallpox, polio, and tetanus, which were once widespread, have been largely eliminated thanks to vaccination programs.

It is important to stay up-to-date with vaccinations to prevent the resurgence of infectious diseases. The World Health Organization (WHO) highlights vaccine hesitancy as a significant global health challenge, making awareness and access essential.
