New procedure for SW emergency money in Nicosia
Important: This post applies only to International Protection Holders / EU nationals
Social Welfare in Nicosia have designed a new procedure for applying for and receiving emergency money.
Procedure:
- Once you have a need for emergency support, you submit a completed application A11 (download here) with supporting documents to SW Lakatamia office. You don’t need an appointment.
- Upon submission of the application, you will be given a receipt.
- If you qualify for support, within a week you will receive a phone call with an appointment for collection of money.
- You will need to present your original ID documents in order to receive money.
- Upon receiving the money, you will be given a paper with the next appointment when you will need to bring a new A11 application and other documents marked as required (eg. a renewed labour card, receipt for rent payment).
Supporting documents required:
- Copies of ID document of all members of the family
- Copies of birth certificates of children (if applicable)
- Valid labour cards of all adult members of the family if they are not working
- A copy of the contract of employment, pay slip and Social Insurance statement for the members of the family who work
- Bank statements for the past 6 months for all members of the family
- Copy of the contract of rent
- Copy of a receipt of the rent payment
Note: If you require support for rent, you need to complete an additional A11 application just for rent and you need to attach a copy of a receipt from the last rent payment.
